New Executive Director for Manlius Senior Activity Centre After a thorough search process, the Manlius Senior Activity Centre’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Kristin Rogers as the Senior Centre’s new executive director. Kristin will succeed Ann Smith, who has served as the Senior Centre’s executive director since 2016. Kristin’s first day will be Tuesday, April 16. A non-profit professional, Kristin has a background in both fundraising and senior care, as well as program development. Most recently, she served as a senior companion for Senior Home Care & Alzheimer Solutions. As part of her role as a senior companion, Kristin had the opportunity to spend time at the Senior Centre with her clients and witnessed firsthand the positive impact the Centre’s activities have on the lives of our local seniors. “I’m excited about the prospect of bringing my skills, passion and dedication to the Manlius Senior Activity Centre and eager to contribute to its ongoing success,” said Kristin. Prior to her role at Senior Home Care & Alzheimer Solutions, Kristin served as a territory manager for Logowise, Inc., and the executive director for the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She also volunteered extensively with David’s Refuge and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and management from SUNY Cortland. Members will have the opportunity to meet Kristin in person on her first day on Tuesday, April 16, at the Centre's 12:45 p.m. roundtable, as well as a question-and-answer session following lunch in the dining room on Friday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m. Ann has done a tremendous job serving the Senior Centre Membership over the past 7.5 years. The number of members and activities has increased significantly during Ann’s tenure. She led the Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which the Centre continued to creatively support our seniors during a period of isolation. Ann will work directly with Kristin for several weeks to enable a smooth Executive Director transition. We thank Ann for her service and dedication to the Centre and wish her the very best in her future endeavors. She surely will be missed! |
